Product DescriptionGyotaku Fish Printing is an art that originated in Japan. The form and substance of the actual fish, scale pattern, fin design and body contours are all captured on special paper through a rubbing technique. As a result, the natural beauty of a treasured marine animal is transformed into a work of art.
Tony Chatowsky, started fish printing in 1986 and has developed his own style using acrylic paints on Japanese rice papers. The fish are native to the east coast, and caught by the artist.
